Android Guide¶

In order for the Android application to work, the dSS version has to be at least version 1.0.4

Talk Back¶

The Talk Back functionality tells the user what the current apartment consumption is, whenever they call an activity in the Activity Overview.
It works in both English and German, depending on what your system language is.

Sensor Control¶

When in the 2-way button screen for either a device or an activity, 3 sensor control options are available:

• Shake the phone to enable/disable
• Tilt the phone left to dim down
• Tilt the phone right to dim up

When the phone is in an upright position, no dimming is done.

Automatic Come Home¶

To enable the Automatic Come Home functionality, tick it off in the Concepts menu while the phone is connected to the home WiFi.
A permanent service is then started in the background, and can only be disabled by removing the tick again in the Concepts menu.

Closing the application does not affect the service.

When the service is enabled, at any time the phone connects to the home WiFi and "Leave Home" is the last called scene in any room, "Come Home" is called, and the user is notified.

Widgets¶

After having connected to a dss in the main application, a widget can be added to the home screen by pressing the menu button (on the home screen) -> add -> widget -> digitalSTROM
Choose the desired activity, and a widget is generated. Once placed on the home screen it cannot be reconfigured to another activity, but is possible to have several different digitalSTROM widgets.

Calling OFF in more than 1 room¶

In the main menu, long press on any room name, to open a context menu with these options:

• "Switch this room off" calls scene OFF in the chosen room
• "Switch all other rooms off" calls scene OFF in all other rooms than the chosen. Note that this might take several seconds, depending on your dsm and room configuration
• "Cancel"
